We understand how stressful it is for a student to navigate a Title IX investigation or case, regardless of whether the student is a complainant or a respondent.  Our job is to make sure that our clients have all of the supports necessary to manage the Title IX process along with their other obligations.  Maintaining health and wellness becomes critical for managing the demands of a college proceeding.  Here is what one of our clients said about our services, as well as his advice for students who may be in a Title IX or related campus misconduct matter.

KJK’s Title IX Student & Athlete Defense Practice Group is incredibly helpful from the first phone call. Susan and Kristina work diligently to provide a service that is both friendly and clear. As a student who was only vaguely familiar with the proceedings prior, their counsel is as effective as it is empathetic. In my experience, both worked with difficult case deadlines while performing case-related matters that kept me in the loop. I am very grateful to have called them for my Title IX matter.

For students who may be involved in a Title IX or related matter, I offer the following tips. First, I recommend that you call a lawyer before you make any other move. Following that step, one should consider staying away from public statements on the matter. I also recommend that this public silence be countered with engagement in therapy and frequent self-care. Similarly, reach out to the appropriate contact at your school to coordinate supportive measures so that you may continue with your academics. Establishing a list of hobbies and rituals to ground myself was incredibly helpful throughout the ups and downs of the case.

We appreciate the tips provided by our client.  After all, a successful outcome requires a healthy partnership between our client and our legal team.  If you or a loved one are in need of legal services, do not hesitate to reach out to one of our attorneys
