In the fall of 2022, a KJK client and former Dartmouth student filed a civil lawsuit against current Dartmouth sophomore Nate Kim (’25) for defamation, claiming that Kim defamed the plaintiff through online allegations of rape and sexual assault. The lawsuit, filed in the United States District Court for the District of New Hampshire, was recently settled.

As part of the terms of resolution, defendant Nate Kim provided a written affidavit. Included in the affidavit was Kim’s admission that he had no “personal knowledge that [the plaintiff] sexually assaulted anyone.”

Commenting on the client’s ability to use the affidavit, Attorney Kristina Supler spoke with the Columbia Spectator, stating:

[The plaintiff] will use the affidavit at his discretion to “defend himself.”

Attorney Susan Stone added,

“We’re very pleased with the outcome. The matter has been resolved to the satisfaction of the parties.”
